Coconut emotions!!

Hello Fresh Morning,
Today its Independence day of India. 15th Aug. I was quit busy since morning as my son has to rush to school for flag hosting ceremony and I was worried as I have to collect him later by 10. I hurriedly completed my daily jobs and was heading to take bath. Suddenly a call came from a unknown number on my mobile. I was in no mood to receive the call as it was 9:30 already. But my mind made me to receive the call. It was my assistant doctor Dr Pawan. He asked me preferable time to meet. I was confused and said yes if he can complete within 10mins. He agreed.
Within 5 mins he was at my door step. “Tell me what’s the matter?” asked him with a gesture to sit nearby. He was very silent. As I saw him for a while he broke into tears. I was bit surprised and started guessing his problem. He was about to open his clinic with the funding from parents. Might be he is in need of more money and parents denied, I guess. With a silence of almost 5mins he sobbingly asked, “Sir Do you feel something odd in my behavior?” I was more confused with the question. I thought might be something of mine has hurt him. I said “nothing, just you were engorged in your clinic setup..” He was still sobbing. The problem is something else I guessed. Dr Pawan is a young Marathi chap who was having found of Gym and work outs. He was having a muscular body but very timid nature. He look very aggressive but was very mild from inside, like a coconut. I was surprised on this issue what went wrong “What hurt you so much Pawan” I asked. After taking his time he said “I had given a job to a carpenter to make partitions for his clinic, but as I was not having much amount at hand thus was in search of budget carpenter.” “One was ready to do the job with 500rs more, so I gave him the job” said he. “Then” I asked. He said “Next day another rang me and said to do the job at my quoted price. I was happy to save 500rs and took the job from the person and gave it to the latter one.” “So” I said. “Today I went to take the material from the 1st one to handover it to other one. I reached his home and found that his brother was paralyzed, his father was not at good health and thus I felt bad. I felt like selfish; to save 500rs I didn’t give him the job.”
I was shocked by the emotion he was having. In the era where nobody thinks of his near ones, Dr Pawan was crying with guilt of fault. This was mistake or not I don’t want to go in ethics but the main issue was that there are persons who really think the other way. Usually this happens a lot with lot of people and lot of time.
Pawan was waiting for my explanation. I said “Everything happens for the good, says Bhagvat Gita.” “There must be something good coming to him and don’t feel yourselves as the cause for his doom.” “This is life. It shows the same colours, what you want to see. This time you have to be at your priority and don’t waste money. Next time whenever you are going to have the similar situation, try to help the needy.  Also you can send the carpenter with another job”. I was happy to see humanity and emotions through the eyes of Pawan.

Thank you.

@ Bapu Kuti, A serene visit....

"Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth.”― Albert Einstein, On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 70th birthday.

I was wondering Einstein was admiring Gandhiji. A person who created atom bomb was looking respectfully to Mahatma. We created nothing but takes liberty to criticize anybody.

Recently it happened that I got a chance to visit Bapu Kuti in Wardha district. It is just 120km away from home but took 34yrs for me to reach Sewagram, where Bapu lived and channelized most of his world amazing ideas. I was very sorry for me for being so late.

I entered the ashram and got lost in the simplicity. I was accompanied with my wife Bhoomika, son Veer, and my colleagues Doctors Samrat, Gauri, Yojana, Gayatri and Rahul Ambadkar. But I was in no hurry to move. Even my son felt it like home. At last simplicity always attracts.

Ashram was just adjacent to main road but on entering it seemed to be quite silent. The serenity and the presence of spirituality can be felt. The Bapu Kuti and Ba Kuti was the symbol of one’s basic need. It was saying as if this is much to live on this earth. The small windows were spreading the natural light from outside but it felt like divine. The experience was making me high spirited.

I was continuously thinking during the visit, how a person can really make others to take the batons of British army. He never thought of attack. He never replied with aggression. The sharpest weapon he had was Satyagraha and the mantra of ahimsa. Even today one can feel (if he wants to) the energy of these powerful things.

People had controversies about him. But I will say first implement all the deeds Mahatma did and then criticize the person. It’s really hard to implement pure truth in our daily life. So how can we measure the depth of Mahatma?

Need of skills

Fresh Morning!!
As I was driving to my clinic, have a stop on traffic signal. As usual there were beggars who surround the people and ask for some rupee. There were two young chaps in front of me on a bike. One beggar went to them asking for some Alps. Instantly that young chap gave him a laminated certificate in beggars bowl. It seemed to be a board certificate which one gets on passing 12th exam.

The beggar saw it and returned it to the young Chap. That Chap was saying that “you want something so I am giving my 12th board certificate; it’s of no use to me”. Soon the situation was weird. Now the beggar was moving to other and the young chaps followed him forcing to take their documents. Getting irritated the beggar yelled, “kyu garib ka mazak udate ho sahab.” The Chap said “Mazak to hamare saath hua hai itna padh ne ke baad bhi koi job nahi deta. ”

This left me thinking of the positions of youth in India. I am also a professional and have knowledge to give medicines to diseased persons. There are many doctors who have knowledge but not able to use it. Why? I asked my selves.

In the world of competition the one who survives has to be best in skilled education than formal education. Yes, degrees won’t yield anything if they are not applied with skills of that individual. One is always forced to get the formal educations in India. But everyone doesn’t understand the importance of the skill one should posses. Keep working on your skills.

FRESH MORNING!!

Yes Fresh morning…. Recently I perceive the power of words on our life. You may say that we all know. But I am talking about the impact of it.

My best buddy is CISCO and is always on fire. He is suffering from IBS. Mostly when we talked I had seen him saying that he is sucked of the over responsibilities of family, friends and job pressure. He is executive and retains a big post. But he is not satisfied with what he is doing. Let it be. Some times in morning when he calls and start with “GOOD MORNING” wish. I use to respond him in my tone.

I found that mostly it’s me who is low at tone, and use to amaze on Vivek’s (my friend) voice. Soon we use to engorge in a talk in which Vivek use to reach his subconscious level and tell his problems. I felt it that discussing all the negatives will drain the energy of Vivek. Thus I started thinking on it.

During that period I was reading ‘The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari’ by Robin Sharma for 3rd time. I am now habituated to wake in morning 5:30am. Daily I use to read the book in open in morning but that day I was thinking of Vivek. But as soon as I went out in open I felt freshness of morning. As I was buried in my thoughts, its freshness made me calm in a fraction of second. I was enlightened with fact what I was experiencing. Instantly I texted to Vivek ‘Fresh Morning’ and nothing further.

He didn’t reply. The very next morning I did the same text. This time after few hours he called and told me that what he felt. He was really feeling FRESH. His days started with a fresh mood. Now it is a regular text in morning. If I miss then he sends me the same text and nothing.

Now we both are enjoying the freshness. Try it or ask me if you wanna some help.

Thank you!

Produce Good Results..... how?

I always meet a lot of fellow doctors and people from different fields of job. The most common topic of discussion is yielding results. Most of them are good to identify that results are the only parameters to be in the competition.
This is a world of service and quality. The one who achieves this is the king of market. People are plunging to join such institution and person because there is no suspicion on the service or quality. Many of the people whom I met agreed on this topic. But the main question remains the same how to achieve it?
Today there are lot many tools and techniques are available to enhance these two. My friends are also trying a few of these techniques. But still there is loud voice that the things are not functional. This is going on all the grounds where people are expecting much more. One day one of my friend has a statement that his competitor is illiterate have not gone to any B-school, still he is doing good. People are busy in his services. My friend is a eligible business person who has done well in commerce. Here I came with Homoeopathy.
I started asking him about the work, his style , his services and no doubt he was serving the best of his part. Still he was not satisfied.
I went home with the thought of where is the problem? Rising up in any business is depending on the service. The services are good, but still my friend was not happy. OK!! THAT'S THE CATCH. ya he is not happy with the out put. This was making him feel dejected and depressed. Making him feel loathed with the expectations of his costumers.
I was very much inspired by
People Who feels good about themselves ---------- Produces good results.
This is the fact. Bhagwat Gita says "Karma karo" don't waste time in expecting something. One fine day you will be full with fruits in your basket.
I shared my thought with my friend. He was happy to know the flaw and changed his attitude, which eventually reduced his clashes with his colleagues and subordinates. Thus having a boom in sell. No whenever he is down with his sales figure he is more happy and try others to remain happy to get optimized output. There are lot of people whom I have seen who always reproach themselves for there own policies. But I says Policies can be effective if the mind set is relaxed and happy. So feel good.

Masters of Homoeopathy on Repetition of Doses

In acute conditions, never give more than three doses of the remedy in the same potency, If the patient is much better or worse after any dose, don't repeat. Latter it may be necessary to repeat in a higher potency.

Never repeat the remedy, as long as improvement continues even if it is slow.

Dr. Case - A remedy which can bring a symptoms to the surface will usually cure without further medication. Therefore wait and watch.

Dr. T.K. Moore - Minutes or hours in acute, a week or months in chronic. Never repeat while amelioration holds.

Dr. M.L. Tyler - In sudden attacks I often change the remedy in half an hour.

Dr Jahr - Remember when tempted to repeat, it is better to come in late than too soon.

Dr. Sir John Weir - As a general rule in acute cases the repetition should be frequent, until a decided remission of the symptoms occur. If there is no improvement after a few hours, a fresh medicine should be sought.

Dr. J.H. Clarke - If the symptoms for which a remedy is given are removed and new symptoms appear, withhold the hand if you wish the case to go on to recovery.

Dr. Lippe - After a prescription is giving relief do not give a remedy for any new symptom in a less vital part.

Dr. Lippe - It is a primary rule not to keep repeating your remedy when the intervals between the aggravations of the disease are lengthening. This is an indication that the patient is improving.

Recorder, 1931 - It is not always that the technical single dose is the best practice, but the single collective effect is always to be sought.

Dr. J.T. Kent - Always conserve the strength of your patient and never repeat a remedy which exhausts him.

Recorder, 1931 - In chronic cases there is no danger in waiting on a single dose and it frequently requires days or even weeks before a change may be noticed, but when undisturbed, always followed by a happy action of the true remedy. In chronic cases, the skill of the physicians is gauged to a large extent on the action of the remedy. He must know the nature of the disease and the indication of the favourable action of the remedy. If the disease goes from within outwards and above downwards, from the more important to less important organs he may rest assured that his remedy is favourably acting and a repetition of dose is not called for.

Dr W.A. Yingling - One great trouble has been to keep from giving medicine unnecessary, I write down the symptoms of all the cases of chronic character and when the patient comes in again saying they are no better, I take down my record book and enquire the different symptoms as given in the first visit and if the same or any of the symptoms are better, it is an indication to let the patient alone. No special attention needs to be paid to polyps, the cheesy secretions or the haemorrhoidal tumours. The way of keeping yourself from repeating unnecessarily is to put down in black and white the symptoms and at succeeding visits go carefully one by one. It is the only scientific way of finding out just when a second dose of the same or another medicine is needed. This applies to all chronic cases irrespective of potency.

Dr H.C. Allen - Learn to hold and study when distressing symptoms appear after a favourable reaction has followed your first prescription. It is hard lesson to learn but many cases have been spoiled in that way.

Nothing Important Found

Hi,
This happens a lot of time that we face "Nothing Important Found" in a case. One can ask a lot of questions but the answers are not confirmatory or satisfactory to us. Thus it become hard to choose a certain rubric. One can say that we can conclude that the case is introvert or say reserved. But no one knows it can be "Talks indisposed to". Thus such conditions may get arrived as the patient is less communicative and we reach a group of rubrics and not a specific one.

So we have to redefine our strategy. Here I have a solution one can use. Observation - this is one activity which one can not do intentionally during the case. Most of the senior always says to observe the patient since he enters your chamber. But what to observe? This is bit easy if you are a calm observer.

Observation is a skill where you go on noting down the movements and body language of the patient. Here how one enters, fast or slow, whether he greets or seek permission to enter or merely rush inside to occupy the seat. How he sits, position, his movements etc can be noted. Then comes the expressions, way of looking the things, eye to eye contact, gestures, leg movements. Not only movements but the look of the patient can help us alot. The make up, hair style, dressing sense, how he presents himself. All these things can help one to get a break even point.

Remember that a person is always resist one to enter into his core world of thoughts. Its a journey to understand and person and we have to make it easy for the patient to feel comfortable for sharing it. So don't  laugh or make any gestures of uncomfortable to patient. Everybody feels good to share when at home or in acquaintance. This will not make a reserved or introvert open for sure but will give us a confirmed material to get to a particular rubric.

Basic emotions and there opposites

Dear friends,
While going through Homoeopathic case taking we come across lot many emotions of patients. Few are understood but few are not easy to interpret in rubric language. Just to make it easy the basic emotions are the one which are at nearly in all expressions of the patient. Like anger, hate, fear, grief and so on. These we can call them as dispositions. As these are at the base of emotions there are few more emotions of which one has to take care of and those are opposite emotions. This has been seen a lot of time when patients are not attentive to themselves then they can mislead us by giving vague sets of emotions. Thus it becomes our far most priority to find out the base emotion. After getting this, we will be automatically directed to opposite emotion of the base. This will lead us to verify whether the data coming in the case is workable or not. Also we physicians can also keep our questionnaire accordingly. The following are the basic emotions and there opposite one to make you understand easily.

POSITIVE EMOTIONS
NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
Interest, curiosity
Panic
Attraction, desire, admiration
Aversion, disgust, repulsion
Surprise, amusement
Indifference, habituation
Hope
Fear
Gratitude,
Anger, rage
Joy, elation,
Sorrow, grief
Pride, self-confidence, sociability
Embarrassment, shame, guilt, remorse
Generosity
Avarice, greed, miserliness, jealousy
Sympathy
Cruelty
Love
Hate

Return of the Kolamkar :)

Dear friends,
I was obliged to get mails requesting to share some more about Homoeopathy. Thank you for the same. This makes a person more energetic to work and share. Its obvious that when your work is helpful for others to get a solution, anybody will be happy.

During this period of silence I was always explored by my nearer colleagues about various topics. I will try and document it ASAP. So starting again the chain of thoughts and scientific material. If any corrections or additions are there please feel free to connect. Thank you.

Dr. Rahul Kolamkar.
