5 common myths about homeopathy

(As published on Lybrate.com)

Homeopathy is an alternative system of medicine which is side-effect free and it aims to cure various ailments by uprooting their cause. It is a relatively gentle system of medicine and its effects start showing gradually with an immune response. Some of the most common myths associated with homeopathy are:

Myth 1: Homeopathic medicines are placebos... >
Placebos are usually tablets, pills or other such solid oral medications which do not contain an active drug inside them and are ineffective. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), homeopathy is the world's second largest system of medicine. These medicines are not at all useless and they are highly effective as well.

Myth 2: Slow to act and not usable in acute cases

Homeopathic medicines are usually taken in cases of chronic and long-lasting ailments such as arthritis. But there is no such rule that it cannot be taken for curing temporal or viral disorder such as common cold or fever. In fact, they work very well in case of ailments like these and sometimes even faster than allopathic medicine options.

Myth 3: All homeopathic medicines are the same

Due to their physical appearance, all homeopathic medicines might look the same, but in reality, their functionality is very different from each other. Homeopathic medicines usually come from 3000 plant and mineral sources. The most common forms in which homeopathic medicines are manufactured are small, white round pellets, white powder and transparent liquid forms.

Myth 4: Homeopathy is not helpful in surgical issues

Surgical conditions such as hemorrhoids, chronic ear discharge, fissures, and corns are apparently believed to be only treated by allopathic medicines. But this is not the truth. In fact, homeopathy is one of the most effective means of getting rid of your surgery related scars using common agents like calendula.

Myth 5: Homeopathy cannot be combined with allopathy

Normally speaking, allopathic medicines are generally suppressive and they reduce the symptoms occurrences whereas, the homeopathic system is more focused towards going deep to the root cause of the problem and eradicating the same. If taken together, these two systems of medicine will cause you no undesirable side effects and both can work well simultaneously.

How To Tune Your Body and Mind With Meditation

https://www.practo.com/amravati/doctor/rahul-kolamkar-homeopath#fit

My last article comments made me to write this article. Thanks to all those who asked about meditation, you are the inspiration for this article.
Medication is for body and Meditation is for soul. In today's world of commerce and materialism we had forgotten that we are not what we are. Our body is just an instrument and the life(Vital) force is some thing which make us differ from a dead. Force is generated by energy which have vibrations and waves. Meditation is the process to tune the vibration of the energy which brings life to us. As good is the tuning the better is the vibrations, and as vibrations are better the best is your life performance.
Lets have a look on how to start with meditation
1. Need of Meditation: Need is the mother of all inventions. For every human being if you don't have a need you can't see the path. Same way the need to calmness, stability or any other immaterial demands can keep you focus initially.
2. Faith: A quality which brings hope to your vision. Faith is a proved phenomenon which helps you to act in such a way to get every thing you need. Just it has to be charged 100%. A single percent of doubt can bring fractured fulfillment.
3. Consistency: A key to every success. Mediation is not a process of days or weeks, its habit. The more you practice the more you are at core. Initially it seems to be slow moving but as you get connected, you will never feel the slowness. So keep doing.
4. Start from where you are: Don't hunt a place for meditation. Its a process of getting connected and not disconnected, so you can start from you room also. Just make sure you are not disturbed by your phone or door bell.
5. Time: The best time for the one who is starting is the early morning schedule. Human brains are in alpha mode which is best suited while meditating. But if you are night watcher then it will be more of lethargic. So early to bed and early to rise.
These basic steps will surely help to take you to next level of pro. Now remains the question of whom to follow? Its your personal choice to follow any technique, just make sure its has an immaterial approach. One cannot buy a immaterial thing with material cost. Avoid loud and noisy techniques as you are doing it for inner peace and calmness. Thank you

Five Tested Tips That Keep Your Mood Up

(An article cherished on practo.com health feeds)

https://www.practo.com/amravati/doctor/rahul-kolamkar-homeopath#fit

Daily routines and fast lives have always been a source of mood swings. Today most people are suffering from mood swings knowingly or unknowingly. These mood swings, if repeated can bring a lot of stress because they impact our personal and professional lives. The outcome of this is sense of dejection. This dejection can project itself in the form of sadness, depression, gloominess, anger, and even sleeplessness. Then how can we over come it?
Following are five result oriented tips to keep your mood up:
  1. Make a SMART scheduleA smart schedule is one which is specific, measurable, and time bound. This helps you keep all your tasks in line. Following this you can manage to complete multiple tasks throughout the day.
  2. Know when it's time to take a breakResearch has shown that the brain working continuously in one track gets bored easily. The other side is that brain finds it hard to concentrate on one issue for too long. Thus, taking a break makes the brain refresh and focus completely in the game again.
  3. Exercise regularlyExercise improves our health and increases our pain bearing capacity. It also improves the overall muscle strength. Regular exercise keeps the serotonin levels up, which is the hormone responsible for happiness.
  4. Read more or explore new musicIf you are interested in reading then read some books on self help. Books of interest bring joy to the brain. If you enjoy music then try to explore genres, find songs that soothe you. It has been seen that the brain responds well to music and functions better.
  5. Meditate regularlyMeditation is the key to maintain our inner stability. We build up a lot of expectations out of our daily lives and if not met, they make us feel sadness or anger. Both of these have can impact our health a lot. Meditation increases all the constructive activities of the body which are needed for healing or balancing our health.
All these habits are time tested and have shown good results for anyone who has practiced them regularly. Consistency in following these is the key to successfully managing stress.

God N Doctor

I was about to go to my clinic. A person came to me hurriedly. Asked "can homoeopathy regenerate a kidney failed organ?". After a little pause to keep his hopes I said "one can genuinely try, but not for sure". He abruptly replied ok! so you don't know, you are still a new comer.

After a few months I came to know that he died due to the disease. He was under some other doctor's treatment for regenerating his lost kidneys. But the time didn't permit. He has to leave the world. That doctor was also a well known physician. He also tried his level best to help that fellow. But something went wrong.

He was under the influence that doctor has the SURE key to his disease. While doctor was just TRYing his level best by applying his long standing experience. The day he understood the fact, he got despair and rest was the story.

Here the doctor was not a Homoeopath, but does it matters? A doctor is physician first and then a therapeutic master, not a GOD.

Rainy diarrhoea - few tips

Every body is welcoming rainy season. Climate becomes cool and surrounding lively green. Birds chirps, rain drops and colorful flowers adds to the whole new world.

Some times its has another part. Flies and mosquitoes are in abundance. Thus promoting water born diseases like diarrhoea.

Usually diarrhoea is not a threatening disease. But if uncontrolled can bring one to severe problems. Dehydration is one of them.

Diarrhea causing pain in abdomen accompanied by nausea is the commonest picture. It gets in control within three days with minimal medicinal help. But if the symptoms persist and the pain in abdomen is marked then suspect hepatitis. Pain in abdomen with vomiting, no desire to eat food or looking at food brings nausea, mild to moderate fever with weakness and yellowish urine are the signs for consideration. In severe cases yellowish eyes (icterus) and dark yellow urine are prominently seen.

Diarrhea can be controlled with some homely tricks. Mix of Salt lemon water and sugar is most widely used. It restores the electrolytes which stops the further disease progress. In case if the child does not prefers the solution one can try single ingredient at a time one by one. It is easily palatable by the child.

Avoid giving oily, spicy or sour food stuffs even there is no taste in mouth. It can worse the condition. Also avoid eating or drinking full at one time. Stomach is in distress and cannot hold the regular amount to food stuffs or water. This eventually may get vomited. Thus making the condition more dehydrated.

Keep the drinking water sterile by boiling before drinking. Keep the utensils dry to avoid contamination. Maintain hygienic surrounding with fresh open air as per patients preference.

These small precautions can bring you all the enjoyments of the rainy season. "Because prevention is better than cure."

Change of weather = time to change health strategy

As the change of weather is happening, we have to change the strategy at home and out side to remain happy and healthy.

Few are the tips for the same

- cold coryza don't need medicines unless complicated. Complication like fever, sever weakness and weight loss brings in doctors consultation.

- keep kids well hydrated. Cause less of hydration makes a child irritable, loss of concentration and cranky.

- its never wrong to get wet in rain. But don't get wet for a long time. Hypothermia can bring different health issues like pneumonia etc.

- sensitive person and kids should remain aloof from getting wet. If unavoidable then try to keep head dry and covered.

- avoided eating oily stuffs. Also avoid over eatings. It may bring pain in abdomen and acute gastritis leading to medical intervention.

- avoid wetting your skin conditions or wounds. Infections may spread speedily in such condition. Diabetics and skin sensitive should take strict precautions. If necessary take doctor's consultation.

- avoid using wetting clots and undergarments as they are likely to bring sever fungal infections. Such infections if spread for bigger area may bring asthmatic complaints.

- asthmatics and bronchitis patients should take special precautions for humidity. Humid air and close places or getting wet may trigger the acute symptoms of attack.

- rheumatism patients should take precautions for avoiding cold. Stiffness and swelling are the common signs which get aggravated. But keeping joints warm fomented helps a lot. Gentle massage increases circulation.

Do we really like Hahnemann?

After so many years of his death, Homoeopathy is getting rooted as basic healthcare system in world. People who tried it, never left it and doctors who practiced it whole heartedly, never died unknown. On this day of his birth anniversary, all the Homoeopaths (practioners and non practioners of homoeopathy) gather together to felicitate the so called “father of Homoeopathy” – Mahatma Hahnemann and what not. Cakes are cut, sweets are distributed and garlands are dedicated. But the question comes to mind – DO WE REALLY LIKE HAHNEMANN?

Hahnemann was a man who was dissatisfied with the practices in healthcare that time. He had a vision of how the cure should be and carved his vision with passion resulting Homoeopathy. He never thought of himself. The mission was a balanced cure. A cure which will lower down the further sufferings of a sufferer with the help of Nature’s law, the ultimate reason for existence of human being on earth.  People discarded his observations, made joke of him, force him to live like a vagabond. But he never complained of such hard times as he knew that the result will be pure. He always wanted homoeopathy to be scientific, organized, reasonable and dedicated. His understandings of laws made us so efficient to tackle today’s fatal conditions with those old (gold) rules in organon.

Here are we paying our tributes to this great man by fighting – Homoeopaths with non practicing homoeopaths. Different thought process followers - making statements against each other. Showing once deepest understanding of Homoeopathy than other. Bad words, abuses, critics and allegations making the whole surrounding muddy. So “Do we really like Hahnemann?”

If we really like Hahnemann then we must stop criticizing fellow doctors. Let them do what they like, Hahnemann never forced anybody to do homoeopathy then why should we?  Stop behaving like a religious cult member. Understand the different thought process to reach the ultimate goal set by Hahnemann i.e. CURE.

He is the best follower who takes the quality of his master and implement it in his life. Because a real master is never pleased by flowers, sweets and facebook likes.

I know few are still criticizing me, but ask yourselves - AM I WRONG?

A small video I had dedicated, which I am following and trying to pay my tribute to the noble man HAHNEMANN.

Coconut emotions!!

Hello Fresh Morning,
Today its Independence day of India. 15th Aug. I was quit busy since morning as my son has to rush to school for flag hosting ceremony and I was worried as I have to collect him later by 10. I hurriedly completed my daily jobs and was heading to take bath. Suddenly a call came from a unknown number on my mobile. I was in no mood to receive the call as it was 9:30 already. But my mind made me to receive the call. It was my assistant doctor Dr Pawan. He asked me preferable time to meet. I was confused and said yes if he can complete within 10mins. He agreed.
Within 5 mins he was at my door step. “Tell me what’s the matter?” asked him with a gesture to sit nearby. He was very silent. As I saw him for a while he broke into tears. I was bit surprised and started guessing his problem. He was about to open his clinic with the funding from parents. Might be he is in need of more money and parents denied, I guess. With a silence of almost 5mins he sobbingly asked, “Sir Do you feel something odd in my behavior?” I was more confused with the question. I thought might be something of mine has hurt him. I said “nothing, just you were engorged in your clinic setup..” He was still sobbing. The problem is something else I guessed. Dr Pawan is a young Marathi chap who was having found of Gym and work outs. He was having a muscular body but very timid nature. He look very aggressive but was very mild from inside, like a coconut. I was surprised on this issue what went wrong “What hurt you so much Pawan” I asked. After taking his time he said “I had given a job to a carpenter to make partitions for his clinic, but as I was not having much amount at hand thus was in search of budget carpenter.” “One was ready to do the job with 500rs more, so I gave him the job” said he. “Then” I asked. He said “Next day another rang me and said to do the job at my quoted price. I was happy to save 500rs and took the job from the person and gave it to the latter one.” “So” I said. “Today I went to take the material from the 1st one to handover it to other one. I reached his home and found that his brother was paralyzed, his father was not at good health and thus I felt bad. I felt like selfish; to save 500rs I didn’t give him the job.”
I was shocked by the emotion he was having. In the era where nobody thinks of his near ones, Dr Pawan was crying with guilt of fault. This was mistake or not I don’t want to go in ethics but the main issue was that there are persons who really think the other way. Usually this happens a lot with lot of people and lot of time.
Pawan was waiting for my explanation. I said “Everything happens for the good, says Bhagvat Gita.” “There must be something good coming to him and don’t feel yourselves as the cause for his doom.” “This is life. It shows the same colours, what you want to see. This time you have to be at your priority and don’t waste money. Next time whenever you are going to have the similar situation, try to help the needy.  Also you can send the carpenter with another job”. I was happy to see humanity and emotions through the eyes of Pawan.

Thank you.

@ Bapu Kuti, A serene visit....

"Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth.”― Albert Einstein, On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 70th birthday.

I was wondering Einstein was admiring Gandhiji. A person who created atom bomb was looking respectfully to Mahatma. We created nothing but takes liberty to criticize anybody.

Recently it happened that I got a chance to visit Bapu Kuti in Wardha district. It is just 120km away from home but took 34yrs for me to reach Sewagram, where Bapu lived and channelized most of his world amazing ideas. I was very sorry for me for being so late.

I entered the ashram and got lost in the simplicity. I was accompanied with my wife Bhoomika, son Veer, and my colleagues Doctors Samrat, Gauri, Yojana, Gayatri and Rahul Ambadkar. But I was in no hurry to move. Even my son felt it like home. At last simplicity always attracts.

Ashram was just adjacent to main road but on entering it seemed to be quite silent. The serenity and the presence of spirituality can be felt. The Bapu Kuti and Ba Kuti was the symbol of one’s basic need. It was saying as if this is much to live on this earth. The small windows were spreading the natural light from outside but it felt like divine. The experience was making me high spirited.

I was continuously thinking during the visit, how a person can really make others to take the batons of British army. He never thought of attack. He never replied with aggression. The sharpest weapon he had was Satyagraha and the mantra of ahimsa. Even today one can feel (if he wants to) the energy of these powerful things.

People had controversies about him. But I will say first implement all the deeds Mahatma did and then criticize the person. It’s really hard to implement pure truth in our daily life. So how can we measure the depth of Mahatma?

Need of skills

Fresh Morning!!
As I was driving to my clinic, have a stop on traffic signal. As usual there were beggars who surround the people and ask for some rupee. There were two young chaps in front of me on a bike. One beggar went to them asking for some Alps. Instantly that young chap gave him a laminated certificate in beggars bowl. It seemed to be a board certificate which one gets on passing 12th exam.

The beggar saw it and returned it to the young Chap. That Chap was saying that “you want something so I am giving my 12th board certificate; it’s of no use to me”. Soon the situation was weird. Now the beggar was moving to other and the young chaps followed him forcing to take their documents. Getting irritated the beggar yelled, “kyu garib ka mazak udate ho sahab.” The Chap said “Mazak to hamare saath hua hai itna padh ne ke baad bhi koi job nahi deta. ”

This left me thinking of the positions of youth in India. I am also a professional and have knowledge to give medicines to diseased persons. There are many doctors who have knowledge but not able to use it. Why? I asked my selves.

In the world of competition the one who survives has to be best in skilled education than formal education. Yes, degrees won’t yield anything if they are not applied with skills of that individual. One is always forced to get the formal educations in India. But everyone doesn’t understand the importance of the skill one should posses. Keep working on your skills.

FRESH MORNING!!

Yes Fresh morning…. Recently I perceive the power of words on our life. You may say that we all know. But I am talking about the impact of it.

My best buddy is CISCO and is always on fire. He is suffering from IBS. Mostly when we talked I had seen him saying that he is sucked of the over responsibilities of family, friends and job pressure. He is executive and retains a big post. But he is not satisfied with what he is doing. Let it be. Some times in morning when he calls and start with “GOOD MORNING” wish. I use to respond him in my tone.

I found that mostly it’s me who is low at tone, and use to amaze on Vivek’s (my friend) voice. Soon we use to engorge in a talk in which Vivek use to reach his subconscious level and tell his problems. I felt it that discussing all the negatives will drain the energy of Vivek. Thus I started thinking on it.

During that period I was reading ‘The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari’ by Robin Sharma for 3rd time. I am now habituated to wake in morning 5:30am. Daily I use to read the book in open in morning but that day I was thinking of Vivek. But as soon as I went out in open I felt freshness of morning. As I was buried in my thoughts, its freshness made me calm in a fraction of second. I was enlightened with fact what I was experiencing. Instantly I texted to Vivek ‘Fresh Morning’ and nothing further.

He didn’t reply. The very next morning I did the same text. This time after few hours he called and told me that what he felt. He was really feeling FRESH. His days started with a fresh mood. Now it is a regular text in morning. If I miss then he sends me the same text and nothing.

Now we both are enjoying the freshness. Try it or ask me if you wanna some help.

Thank you!

Produce Good Results..... how?

I always meet a lot of fellow doctors and people from different fields of job. The most common topic of discussion is yielding results. Most of them are good to identify that results are the only parameters to be in the competition.
This is a world of service and quality. The one who achieves this is the king of market. People are plunging to join such institution and person because there is no suspicion on the service or quality. Many of the people whom I met agreed on this topic. But the main question remains the same how to achieve it?
Today there are lot many tools and techniques are available to enhance these two. My friends are also trying a few of these techniques. But still there is loud voice that the things are not functional. This is going on all the grounds where people are expecting much more. One day one of my friend has a statement that his competitor is illiterate have not gone to any B-school, still he is doing good. People are busy in his services. My friend is a eligible business person who has done well in commerce. Here I came with Homoeopathy.
I started asking him about the work, his style , his services and no doubt he was serving the best of his part. Still he was not satisfied.
I went home with the thought of where is the problem? Rising up in any business is depending on the service. The services are good, but still my friend was not happy. OK!! THAT'S THE CATCH. ya he is not happy with the out put. This was making him feel dejected and depressed. Making him feel loathed with the expectations of his costumers.
I was very much inspired by
People Who feels good about themselves ---------- Produces good results.
This is the fact. Bhagwat Gita says "Karma karo" don't waste time in expecting something. One fine day you will be full with fruits in your basket.
I shared my thought with my friend. He was happy to know the flaw and changed his attitude, which eventually reduced his clashes with his colleagues and subordinates. Thus having a boom in sell. No whenever he is down with his sales figure he is more happy and try others to remain happy to get optimized output. There are lot of people whom I have seen who always reproach themselves for there own policies. But I says Policies can be effective if the mind set is relaxed and happy. So feel good.
